Water

hand slides

"Silently, water
        was a shape"

in the eye

a man waves

although I do not
know
         what to say
to sculptures like that -

I react with the water running;

        "honey, the bath is
          almost full."

I turn down the words
and enter the shape-
of course,
we still speak
in the hot-tub,
but the quality is different,
the philosophy is gone;

now the words
are matted
to my pulse.
